The reboot of "Predator" just got some significant updates as the script has apparently been submitted already. According to a Facebook Post by the film's screenwriter Fred Dekker, the script has been given already for review.
Screen Rant also states that "Iron Man 3" director Shane Black is set to direct the reboot. One thing that is still up in the air is the possible return of Hollywood's biggest stars and the lead actor of the first film Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The actor has gone on record blasting the films that followed his first and only "Predator film." As per The Guardian, the actor spoke about the decline of the films after the major success of "Predator." Black's reboot will be the 4th entry in the franchise after the disappointing "Predator 2" and "Predators" released in 2010.
"The sad story is that sometimes studios do a great job with creating sequels, and sometimes they really screw it up bad, and it all has to do with greed," Schwarzenegger said. "They sometimes want to do it really cheap and make as much money as possible, so they don't hire the right cast or the right director. ... It's stupid moves to make."
"So far, no Predator, no matter which one they did after the first one has come out, has been satisfactory to the audience," the star of the "Terminator" franchise said.
While he has ill feelings toward the films that followed, he spoke openly about his fondness towards director Shane Black. The actor called the director a "very talented guy" and still sees "Predator" as one of his favorite projects he's ever done.
With Black stating that the film is not a complete reboot and would include some storylines from the original, there is still a strong possibility that Schwarzenegger makes an appearance in the upcoming reboot.
