''Cyberpunk 2077'' is the next highly anticipated game by CD Projekt RED and the team has been spending a considerable time to release this game. The developers are busy creating unique characters which the gamers would love.

Marcin Iwiński the co-founder of CD Projekt RED, announced the game during the live stream of the CD Projekt RED Group Summer Conference on May 30, 2012. Gamespot has been covering the entire phase by phase development of this game.

CD Projekt Red's managing director Adam Badowski confirmed way back in March 2013 that ''Cyberpunk 2077'' will have unspecified "multiplayer features."

Badowski also confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will not cast players as a predefined hero but rather allow them to forge their own creation. "We'll have different situations in Cyberpunk," Badowski said. "Cyberpunk will have different character classes."

In May 2013 CD Projekt Red stated that the game draws similarities to movies by director Quentin Tarantino.

"There are lots of cyber games around, but there's not a lot of punk in those games," said game director Mateusz Kanik. "We want to put more punk into ours. We do not want to make a dark and hopeless world. We are not doing Blade Runner. It will be full of rock and roll."

In Oct. 2013 CD Projekt Red announced, ''the role-playing game 'Cyberpunk 2077' is "most probably" coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4,'' business development manager Rafal Jaki clarified.

In Jan. 2015, there was more news from CD Projekt Red which confirmed that the developers were entirely focused on ''The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.'' "The first rule of 'Cyberpunk 2077' is that we don't talk about 'Cyberpunk 2077,'' said Michal Platkow-Gilewski, the developer's head of marketing and public relations.

In May 2015 CD Projekt Red, the developers of ''The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt'' said they aren't planning to talk about its next game, ''Cyberpunk 2077,'' until 2017 at the earliest. Speaking to Reuters, CD Projekt's CEO Adam Kicinski said he expects ''Cyberpunk 2077'' to be a bigger commercial success than ''The Witcher 3.''

In Nov. 2015, while speaking to GameSpot in an interview, lead quest designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz discussed the studio's current focus on the anticipated sci-fi role-playing game ''Cyberpunk 2077.''

In Dec. 2015, CD Projekt Red's joint CEO Adam Kicinski revealed the game is "even more ambitious" than what the developer originally had in mind. In another press release CD Projekt Red informed the media that now they want to publish its next game, ''Cyberpunk 2077,'' in late 2016.

Before Christmas in 2015, CD Projekt Red released a holiday-themed digital card. A marketing executive of the company published it on twitter. The animated card featured Geralt from ''The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt'' and a ''Cyberpunk 2077'' character taking a selfie. Both the characters had Gwent cards on their foreheads and appeared to be having a lot of fun.

Even though CD Projekt Red is busy with ''Blood and Wine,'' the final paid expansion of ''The Witcher 3,'' the developers are now busy with ''Cyberpunk 2077.''
