A Russian scientist claims that too much space junk might actually flare up the third world war. Vitaly Adushkin the scientist from Researchers at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow presented a study in a journal titled journal ActaAstronautica.

Adushkin stated that the space clutter that all of the countries are responsible for can also be known as the debris that have a "special political danger". Adushkin stated that it is hard to determine if a space craft was damaged unintentionally or not. He explains that this kind of misinterpretation might instigate a World War III.

"(Misunderstandings) may provoke political or even armed conflict between space-faring nations. The owner of the impacted and destroyed satellite can hardly quickly determine the real cause of the accident" quipped Adushkin.

According to NASA since the beginning of space exploration almost six decades ago there has been an accumulation of an astounding amount of space junk floating around the earth. However scientists also claimed that space debris cannot harm the environment of the galaxy because they were initially made to be there. After over 5,000 launches to outer space, NASA stated that there's almost 500,000 space junk debris floating around and because the launches are somewhat close to each other collision between satellites are possible.

Back in 2014, China shut down six of their satellites using a missile. Not long after one of the Russian satellites malfunctioned.  It was soon discovered that the cause of disturbance came from a debris from China's decommissioned satellites. There were speculations that it was foul play. China however has been adamant that the incident was an accident.

NASA suggest that countries should try to minimize the debris that's been circling around space instead of making a big deal out of it to the point that they're actually willing to spark a war over it.
