There have been rumors that the Atlanta Hawks former All-Star guard Jeff Teague is on the block.

The more accurate description is that the Hawks brass are willing to listen to possible offers instead of an outright "no."

As such, there have been some proposed scenarios for Atlanta's mercurial point guard. There are some teams with a glaring need at the point and one of them is the transaction-aggressive Houston Rockets. This was confirmed by ESPN Insider.

"A second playmaker to go with James Harden remains Houston GM Daryl Morey's white whale," Insider Kevin Pelton said. "The Rockets hoped Ty Lawson would fill that role, but the offseason trade for Lawson has backfired because he has been ineffective both playing with Harden and as a lead ballhandler."

Teague would be a great addition to the Rockets and the team was named as one of the possible destinations for the former All-Star by Hoops Habit.

However, the question looms as to who the Rockets can offer. The obvious answer would be Ty Lawson himself who is an expiring contract. But considering the calibre of Teague as a player and the fact there are other teams with pressing needs at the point (the New York Knicks in particular) GM Daryl Morey has to up the ante.

The article points out that Houston has a couple of young power forwards that have merited some interest from other teams.

"It makes sense for the Rockets to move one of Motiejunas or Terrence Jones, considering they're both on the last year of their deals and it doesn't make a ton of sense for Houston to keep both," HH writer Ti Windisch wrote. "Dumping Lawson for Teague while losing one of two power forwards doesn't hurt the Rockets much."
