No more Hayden Christensen in the next "Star Wars" as re-writing has occurred. Does that mean no more Darth Vader angle anymore after the delayed release date?

Previous reports have already pointed out that there are rumors of re-writes on the next "Star Wars" and it seems episode 8 will focus entirely on the characters introduced in "The Force Awakens." While Hayden Christensen's return to the franchise has already been the talk to of the town, new developments have now shown that there will neither be Anakin Skywalker nor Darth Vader in episode 8 as the release date was pushed back.

A report by CinemaBlend pointed out that while episode 8 production is almost near to meet the release date, "Star Wars" writers have chosen to go a different way, in terms of character focus. While this doesn't completely mean that the older characters in the series won't play a big part in the next "Star Wars" installment, it could also mean other major characters from the previous "Star Wars" installments won't be coming back after all.

During Meet the Movie Press podcast via the report, it was revealed that, "I said before there were two young female roles, now I actually heard that the rewrite will make these roles smaller. They want to get to know better the characters they already have. So the new rewrite is shrinking the new roles in order to spend more time with Rey, Poe and so on."

While this indirectly provides possibilities that Hayden Christensen's return won't happen this episode 8 and could be pushed back to another "Star Wars" episode, it still does not confirm that one of his characters won't be making the appearance. Initially, it was pointed out that Hayden Christensen's return to "Star Wars" will be a reprisal of his Anakin Skywalker role, as Darth Vader was rumored to be Snoke in "The Force Awakens."

Fans will know which characters to get to know more of as release date comes for "Star Wars" episode 8 on Dec. 15, 2017.
