"Rick and Morty" season 3 release date is rumored to be in 2017.
Crossmap reported that the series has been renewed for a third season. However, there is still no official confirmation on the "Rick and Morty" season 3 release date.
The publication noted that the show's official Twitter account has jokingly claimed that the producers will set the release back a month for every question on the "Rick and Morty" season 3 release date.
"Every time we're asked when season 3 comes out we push it back a month," they tweeted last month. "See you nerds in 2020."
"Too many 'Rick and Morty' writers are playing 'Pocket Mortys' and NOT writing 'Rick and Morty' right now," Twitter user Mike McMahan wrote.
"Pocket Mortys" is a game based on the series where players can catch, train and battle against different types of Mortys. It is heavily inspired by "Pokémon" and was released last month for Android and iOS.
In addition, according to Crossmap, Mr. Poopybutthole claimed that fans will have to wait for a year and a half for the "Rick and Morty" season 3 release date. It is said to be aired by early 2017.
Although there hasn't been any official announcement on the "Rick and Morty" season 3 release date yet, there are reports that suggest a Mar. 2017 premiere.
It was previously reported that "Rick and Morty" season 3 may have fixed all the problems in the show's second season.
"I don't think anybody wants to do a third season that simply spends a whole bunch of episodes dealing with a situation that we created at the end of the second season," Dan Harmon told Den of Geek.
"So, I think that's a non-spoiler way of saying things should be okay pretty quickly."
Ecumenical News also reported that there are speculations on old characters returning for the "Rick and Morty" season 3 release date. Some of the rumored characters include Evil Eyepatch Morty, Mr. Meeseeks, and Snuffles/Snowball from the Dog World.
