If the fast food chain Chick-fil-A is to be believed, chicken nuggets can now be added to one of the foods people should consume to stay healthy this year. Chicken nugget lovers rejoice? Nutritionists say not so fast.

Recently, Chick-fil-A started printing on the side of its takeout bags some tips to live healthily this 2016. One of the tips was controversial- telling customers to eat more chicken nuggets. "Eat smaller meals (like an 8-count pack of grilled nuggets) every three to four hours," the tip reads. Some had labelled the diet as the "chicket nugget cleanse."

However, Yahoo News reports that nutritionists warn that customers should take this tip with a grain of salt. The CEO of New York Nutrition Group, dietician-nutritionist Lisa Moskovitz claimed that eating nuggets every three hours can lead to adverse effects since the diet is not balanced. The nutritionist asserted that while the diet may lead to reduced calorie consumption and at the same time, high protein, the diet is not a healthy one. Those who will follow through may suffer from insufficient vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants that can be sourced from other foods. Weight loss may only happen at first but is not sustainable. Other nutritionists debunk the idea that eating smaller meals several times a day can lead to weight loss.

Before the nutritionists weigh in on the issue, some reports already made fun of the diet tip from the fast food chain. According to Cosmopolitan magazine, the diet does not make nugget lovers rejoice at all. The tip has particularly specified the grilled nuggets but most consumers love the fried versions more.  People magazine also poked fun at the tip, saying those who will follow it can just make them broke. Eating grilled nuggets six times in a day can amount to spending $23 bucks daily.
