2016 is going to really busy for Rebecca Ferguson. Her recently released movie ''Despite the Falling Snow'' which had an initial release on Jan. 29, 2016 is doing well in the circle of film critics. It will be released on Apr. 22, 2016 in the UK.

This movie is based on the 2004 book by Shamim Sarif of the same name. As per the latest report of variety, 6 Sales had acquired world sales rights of this book. The plot of this story is set in the Cold War Moscow between 1959-1961. This movie is a period drama which is based on a tale of betrayal.

The Russia-U.S. arms race and deep rooted love are the key themes of this movie. Katya (Played by Rebecca Ferguson), a Russian school administrator falls in love with Alexander (Sam Reid), a government star who was climbing the ladders of success. They get married. Later the drama unfurls and it becomes clear that Katya is a spy for the U.S. She married Alexander only to take revenge of her parents' death. This disclosure devastates Alexander and he plots a plan to catch hold of Katya.

Ferguson plays a double role as Lauren who is the niece of Alexander and re-appears in his life after 30 years. Hanan Kattan is the producer of this epic love story. "Despite the Falling Snow'' is a relatively rare film today, an epic love story which talks about betrayal, how people behave under the deepest political and emotional stress," said Kattan.

IMDb gave this movie a rating of 7.8/10 and YouTube already has the trailer uploaded.

Charles Dance, Sam Reid, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and German Ante Traue also star in the movie along with Rebecca Ferguson.

Ferguson already has almost finalised her deal for ''Prometheus 2: Alien Covenant.'' She is going to have a significant role as Katrine Bratt in ''The Snowman'' which is scheduled to be released in the US on Oct. 13, 2017.

She is already one of the front runners for the upcoming ''Captain Marvel'' the first female-led superhero movie which is scheduled to be released in 2019.
