In the world of smartwatches, new entrants and models are launched on a regular basis. LG Smartwatch Urbane was launched in Apr. 2015 and is capturing the market share very well. Huawei just unveiled 2 smartwatches ''Elegant'' and ''Jewel.'' Both are giving tough competition to Samsung Gear S2 Smartwatch.

Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch was launched on Oct. 2, 2015 in the US. It was unveiled in IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany.

It runs on the proprietary Tizen operating system of Samsung Electronics. It has 512MB RAM and 4GB Storage. The Indian Express did a product review and mentioned the complete specifications of this smartwatch and prices for the Indian Market.

This gadget is Samsung's Wi-Fi-only S2 smartwatch, and it is circular, prettier version of the earlier Gear S smartwatch. It is ideal for tracking health and playing music via Bluetooth headphones. The leather band gives Gear S2 Classic a classy look.

This version is available in 18K Gold Plated and Platinum Plated dual dial tones. The regular Gear S2 looks more sporty. The 42 mm dial is not suitable for bony wrists. As per the official website, ''Gear S2 is all about being intuitive.'' The Tizen OS is intuitive.

YouTube has a cool review from a buyer. Gear S2 has a home and back button and there is a rotating bezel. Cnet has given this watch a 6.9 overall rating. The rotating bezel helps the user to navigate through the apps.

It can be connected to any Android device with version 4.4 and above. The wireless charging clock is liked by most of the users. IT web mentioned that the hardware and battery of this watch is very good. The Gear S2 smartwatch runs on an Exynos 3250 dual-core SoC.

Gear S2 also houses a 250mAh capacity which means a decently long battery life. As per IT web the S2's biggest issue lies not in its hardware, but the software. There are problems with app support and general integration with Google services. Cnet mentioned that the smartwatch is more expensive compared to other smartwatches with similar specifications.

It requires a connected data plan to pair with which is a limitation of this watch. It doesn't work with iPhones which is another huge limitation which reduces the market for the buyers. Wareable mentioned ''Voice controls on the S2 are actually a bit of a let-down.'' PC advisor gave it a 4-star rating.

So overall, since the smartwatches are still in the phase of development, all of them have some issues or the other. The looks of Samsung Gear S2 Classic were considered better than many others in the segment by the users. The weight of the watch is an issue.

However, on the whole it might not turn out to be a bad deal if the user uses all the features.
