Chapter 472 of "Fairy Tail" is already available online through Manga Fox. As previously announced in the last chapter, the current chapter continues the battle Hargeon that focuses on the one-on-one matchup between Wahl and Lexus.
Before any speculations and predictions for the upcoming chapter, here's the recap of events.
Lexus and Wahl go toe-to-toe as they finally face each other. Lexus uses his power of lightning while Wahl displays his mechanical capability as he starts his analysis of the enemy.
Wahl reveals that he cannot be harmed with lighting since it's one of his abilities. On the other hand, Kagura and Ezra head to the port as they sense another presence of the Spriggan 12. When they arrive in the port, the enemy is revealed to be Neinhert.
The battle of Lexus and Wahl continues with the former gaining the upper hand in pure strength. Wahl realizes this and immediately changes his settings and estimates he could finish Lexus in 90 seconds. The chapter ends with Wahl initializing an attack from on top.
The next chapter will most likely reveal Lexus dealing with Wahl's attack. Also, the title of the next chapter is "Red Lightning," which will probably unveil Laxus' secret new technique. Is this the result of too much Lacrima inserted in his body?
On the other hand, blogger Manga Bless speculates that Dimaria will have to face a different type of magic and could be defeated soon.
The blogger's speculation rests on the unknown reason why Dimaria is so fast, "Dimaria isn't probably just a swordswoman, she's probably using time magic that allows her to stop or slow down time for a while. If it's time magic that Carla may be key to victory, she hasn't show her enhanced precognition ability yet."
At Reddit, user somasora7 predicts that Kagura and Ezra somehow find a way to defeat Neinhart while Laxus invokes a power through his blood to defeat Wahl even with the overwhelming odds.
Based on the recent events, it looks like the battle of Hargeon will end soon. However, it's still not known what the protagonists would do when they realize Acnologia has arrived.
