The release date details for "Kingdom Hearts 3" have been confusing. Is the ever-growing number of worlds the cause of the delay?

There have been a lot of speculations about the unannounced release date for "Kingdom Hearts 3" yet already, delays have been the talk of the town. Previous reports have pointed out that while "Kingdom Hearts 3" is the focus of Square Enix, the 2016 release date might not be manageable after all.

In a report by DesignNTrend, "Kingdom Hearts 3" Square Enix revealed that worlds have been the main consideration of the game. Now fans are now asking if this is the reason why the release date for "Kingdom Hearts 3" has yet to be announced.

"We are prioritizing the creation of new worlds in 'Kingdom Hearts 3,' and we would have to consider the reveal timing of those worlds, making sure that we discuss with Disney," revealed Square Enix via the report. "That opening scene is very versatile, since it doesn't involve those new worlds, plus it's a great asset to use as a prologue to build up excitement towards 'Kingdom Hearts 3'."

"Kingdom Hearts 3" director Tetsuya Nomura himself confirmed that apart from the other aspects of the game that is taking time to announce a release date, the worlds that are "mostly new" is the focus of the development team. According to a report by GameInformer, new worlds abound in "Kingdom Hearts 3." The many worlds now include "Big Hero 6" and "Tangled."

Prior to "Kingdom Hearts 3," worlds included a lot more Disney maps including "Hercules" and of course, King Mickey's Fantasia.

While fans are still waiting to hear more news about release date, GameRant has pointed out that apart from the worlds Square Enix is developing for "Kingdom Hearts 3" the gameplay for Sora has also changed. "By and large it sounds like the sequel will feature combat similar to that featured in the prior mainline games, and not any of the mobile spin-offs," it said.

There have been no updates on release date for "Kingdom Hearts 3" yet, but prior reports have pointed out that Sora and the new worlds will be coming no later than 2017. We'll see.
