Who's excited to hear new tracks from the English virtual "Gorillaz" band?

2016, a new year to live, happiness, experiences and a whole new year of new tracks from Gorillaz' new album perhaps? Indeed, it seems to be so! As most recent news have revealed that the band's newest album is still going well and is verging on being wrapped up!

The virtual bands' yet-to-be-titled album will apparently be the band's first studio album after its last five years hiatus - as their last full studio album entitled "Plastic Beach" was launched way back in 2010.

In a previous interview with DIY Mag, band member, Jamie Hewlett, confirmed that the virtual band has already begun chipping away at their newest album.

"I'm working on it at the moment, and it's going very well," said Hewlett, reported Kpopstarz. "I'm very excited. I don't want to say too much about it, but I'm at that phase of experimentation."

Albeit the way that Gorillaz is yet to announce a specific release date for the new album, Jamie Hewlett further teased fans from all across the globe with a statement claiming, "2016 is going to be Gorillaz all year," he said.

"We're doing Gorillaz next year," Hewlett said, according to NME. "Damon [Albarn] has started making some music around all his other projects. I'm working on it at the moment and 2016 is going to be Gorillaz all year."

For those who are unfamiliar, the band comprises of four animated members - 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs - where musicians such as De La Soul, Snoop Dogg, Shaun Ryder, Mark E. Smith and Lou Reed have collaborated with Gorillaz in the past.

Well, if that's insufficient to get all captivated about, the 47-year-old co-creator further revealed that visually, things will be diverse for the animated virtual band.

"It's going to change - I can't tell you how" Hewlett hinted. "But of course, it's going to be different, I can't do what I've already done, that's not interesting to me. In the same way, Damon changes with his music and moves forward, I do the same. It's going to be a different look," he added.

Nonetheless, after quite a while, Gorillaz is set to return to the limelight with its newest album that is relied upon to be released at some point within this current year, 2016.
