One Punch Man has become a bit of a legend in the world of anime. Based on the manga of the same name, the anime focuses on Saitama who struggles in his role as a superhero, not because of the challenges but the lack of it.

It's a funny and brilliant take on the superhero genre not to mention its amazing animation. Anime News Network reviews that it "has some of the most gorgeously animated fight scenes you will see anywhere in anime period."

Naturally, the popularity of the anime has made fans clamor for more. The anime only ran for 12 episodes spanning two months and many are eager for more adventures of the great Saitama. Unfortunately, it may take some time before we get a glimpse of the funny superhero.

According to a report from The Bitbag, "animation studios must double up on their work to make this possible. It takes approximately 6-9 months or 1- 2 years to create a new season." Even with the immense popularity of "One Punch Man," it will still go through the normal cycle of producing episodes.

Aside from the required workload, the current manga source may not be enough for a 12-episode anime. The first season covered six major story arcs and these arcs do not include some introduction of major characters and associations.

As of this writing, there are only three major story arcs still to be made for anime. In short, the studio does not enough materials as of this writing for another season. Hopefully, manga releases continue so that enough materials will be produced for another season before the end of the year.

But even though the anime could be delayed up to early 2017, fans can still enjoy the action of Saitama as it continues to be serialized as a hit manga series by Yuusuke Murata.
