Ariana Grande has been nominated for her first-ever Grammy award! 2014 has been a very big year for the singer. At 21, Grande is the youngest artist to dominate the music charts with back to back hits, "Problem," "Bang Bang and "Break Free" from her debut album "Yours Truly". She also has an amazing feat of having three songs in the Hot 100 top 10 all in the same week. Grande and boyfriend Big Sean also recently performed their song "Best Mistake" for the 2014 A Very Grammy Christmas special.
"A year-and-a-half ago I was wearing a red wig, pretending to be a silly 15-year-old on a television show. It just happened so quickly. This year I was really taken seriously as an artist, and it's sort of blown my mind," Grande tells Billboard.
Even with her smashing hits, her Grammy nomination still came as a surprise to the pint sized star. A source tells Hollywood Life that Grande "freaked out" when she found about her nomination. "She feels so blessed and honored."
"I am an artist. I make music because I love making music, but to be nominated for a Grammy is like the greatest honor as an artist that you can receive, I guess," she told "Access Hollywood"s Shaun Robinson.
Grande was also giddy with excitement after sharing the stage with his boyfriend Big Sean.
"I'm so nervous I'm going to laugh... But it's going to be fun. Whatever happens, happens. It's just sort of inevitable. Silliness, I guess."
The couple looked very much in love as they gaze into each other's eyes as they performed "Best Mistake". They might still be in the early stage of their relationship but the Grande's mom reportedly gave Sean her seal of approval, according to Radar Online.
"Grande's mom, Joan loves Sean because she knows that Ariana is safe with him. All she really wants for Ariana is to be with someone for the right reasons and she believes that Sean truly loves her, so Joan loves him."
