''Gambit'' is an upcoming film which is a part of the ''X-Men franchise.'' Lauren Shuler Donner who is the producer of ''The Wolverine'' series is hoping for the success of those movies. Channing Tatum is expected to be the lead for this upcoming movie.

As per wikia, there is no date set for the release of this film; however, the filming is expected to begin in the month of Oct. or Nov. 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Deadline reported that the screenplay will be based on the Marvel Comics character which was created by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee in 1990. ''The storyline is being kept under wraps.

The character, which also goes by the name Remy LeBeau, has the ability to charge matter with volatile kinetic energy, causing the object in question to explosively release its charge on impact. The character materialized in a short burst in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine'' was the description of this movie given in deadline.

Gamesradar has a video where the correspondent spoke with the producer Lauren Shuler Donner where she talked about this upcoming project and why she thinks that now the time has come for this character to be released as a movie.

Hollywoodreporter in May 2014 reported that Channing Tatum has signed on the dotted line and it is confirmed that now he is going to play the role of ''Gambit.'' Shuler Donner when asked why she chose Tatum for this role, she gave a complete answer. ''Well you know, he's a rogue -- Channing -- he's a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau, and he can handle the action, we all know that! And he's got a really good heart'' clarified Shuler Donner.

"He'll be great for Gambit," she added, "and he's a Southerner, too! He's not from New Orleans, but he is a Southerner, and he understands that world."

In other news, Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be seen together in a musical comedy movie shortly. So is Tatum now evolving as the choicest actor for many directors and producers?
