Sailor Moon Crystal Season 3 Premiere Date Announced; Etsuko Yakushimaru To Sing Theme Song

The official website of the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal anime has revealed the premiere date and theme song artists for the anime's season 3.

According to Anime News Network, Sailor Moon Crystal season 3 will premiere on Tokyo MX on April 4 at 11:00 p.m. The anime will get aired on other broadcasters including Sun TV, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, TV Hokkaido, TV Aichi and BS11 as well.

Etsuko Yakushimaru has been roped in to sing the opening theme song, entitled "New Moon ni Aishite" (Fall In Love With The New Moon), reported HNGN.

Junko Minagawa (voice of Sailor Uranus) and Sayaka Ohara (voice of Sailor Neptune) will perform the ending theme song "eternal eternity." The single CD with both songs will be released on April 27.

The show's official site began streaming the show's first trailer last Sunday while the first episode was screened at an event in Tokyo.

"Sailor Moon Crystal" season 3 will adapt the "Death Busters" story arc, also known as the Infinity arc. It is a reboot of the original anime adaptation of Naoko Takeuchi's "Sailor Moon" manga series.

The upcoming anime season will assemble the ten sailor scouts, specifically the popular outer Senshi such as Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune and Sailor Saturn, as they join Sailor Moon, Sailor Chibi Moon and the others.

Reportedly, Kotono Mitsuishi will reprise the lead role in the anime's third season. The other actors playing the 10 Senshi include Rina Satou as Sailor Mars, Hisako Kanemoto as Sailor Mercury, Ami Koshimizu as Sailor Jupiter, Shizuka Itou as Sailor Venus, Ryou Hirohashi as Luna and Kenji Nojima as Tuxedo Mask/Mamoru Chiba.

It was recently reported that "Sailor Moon Crystal" season 3 will be directed by Chiaki Kon, who will take over for Munehisa Sakai.

Animation director Akira Takahashi will replace Yukie Sato as the character designer. Script writer Yuji Kobayashi, art director Takashi Kurahashi and composer Yasuharu Takanashi will continue their work on the show.
