Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum have successfully adapted to the silver screen the hit TV series "21 Jump Street" since its success spawned a sequel, "22 Jump Street."

The continued success of the action comedy duo will push their movie series to a totally different, but somehow fitting destination: "Men in Black." Reports are coming in that the upcoming "23 Jump Street" will be more than just a sequel since it will become a cross-over to the popular comedy sci-fi film series.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, the plan of a crossover was first revealed in a leaked e-mail from Sony, "One of the concepts that was revealed in the late 2014 Sony Pictures e-mail leaks, however, was that what the studio was planning on was a crossover that would see the characters played by Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum being recruited to leave Ice Cube's squad, and instead become 'Men in Black.'"

The crossover actually created tons of questions with regards to casting especially with Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. But Variety reports that the veteran actors will not be part of the upcoming film, "As for Agent Jay and Agent Kay, execs have already made it clear Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not be reprising the roles they made famous as the studio looks to use this film to relaunch the franchise with younger, fresher faces."

Taking the lead in getting the movie done is director James Bobin. According to Rotten Tomatoes, Bobin is known for "The Muppets" and "The Muppets: Most Wanted." However, the director is also preparing for the release of "Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass" which is set for release May this year.

Variety also reports that the original directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, are currently busy with a Han Solo film but will still serve as movie producers.
