The study was conducted on 18 obese hypertensive patients.

In addition to the purple potatoes used in the experiment, the researchers estimate that similar effects can be obtained by eating white potatoes, which are widely consumed by Koreans, and red potatoes, which have recently become commercially available in Korea.
