  • «Sandwiches are fine. No, I mean it, they are fine»;
  • «I need my papers to be written by tomorrow. I'd better order pizza and read another paperhelp.org review. I will sleep tomorrow, I promise»;
  • «I didn't have time for cooking, I was searching for someone on Reddit do my homework»;
  • «These are not my burgers. I don't know how they got here».

If you have said something of this just recently, it means you have serious problems with your meals. Of course, studying is important and sometimes there is so much to do that you have no time to cook something healthy and nutritious. However, while you can always get help writing college papers by looking through a speedypaper review and hiring the writing service, your health state might not be fixed so easily. Thus, you definitely need a new healthy diet plan.

Healthy meals: to eat or not to eat

If you prefer to cook in the dorm, attend cafeteria during the break or pack lunches, a good nutritious meal plan is a must to stay healthy.  In college the freedom to eat everything you like can play a trick with you and result in problems with weight and even health. To avoid it, try to include the following products in your daily ration:

-          Protein. This is essential to grow your muscles, maintain bones and cells. You can find it in beans, fish, and chicken;

-          Whole grains. It consists of fiber, protein, and B vitamins to keep you healthy. Cereals with low sugar for lunch should become your best friends;

-          Dairy. Instead of coffee, get energy from milk, cheese or yogurt that contain calcium necessary for your organism throughout your lifetime;

-          Vegetables. Even if you don't have fresh vegetables at hand, you can buy some frozen sets that have vitamins and minerals and can be used as snacks during the study breaks;

-          Fruits. Fresh or frozen, canned or dried, fruits give you C vitamin to support your immune system.

Now when you know what to eat, let's check when and how to eat it right:

1.      Eat at least 3 times a day (better, 5 times) as it will keep your metabolism active. Don't miss breakfast even if you are not hungry and eat healthy snacks like yogurt, nuts or granola during the day;

2.      Always stay hydrated. At least 8 glasses of water are necessary to make you feel full of energy and ready for challenges;

3.      Take restaurant portions. Imagine you are at a luxurious restaurant and a chef presents you with his best course. The size of this course should correspond with all your meals during the day. You can always have more later if this is not enough;

4.       Keep snacks at hand. In order not to make sandwiches or order pizza, always have something healthy at hand, like fruits, cheese, yogurt, etc;

5.      Avoid caffeine. Staying up late at night and waking up too early can lead to caffeine overdose. It may cause insomnia and health problems, so try to limit yourself to 1-2 cups a day.

In addition to a healthy diet, stay active during the day, go to the gym, play sports, and get plenty of sleep. Even though keeping a diet is essential, it doesn't mean you cannot get a slice of pizza or a chocolate bar once a week. Just pay attention to your portions and enjoy a small treat every now and then.
