James Bond Idris Elba news was hinted in a batch of leaked emails from Sony Pictures Entertainment. It appears that company Chairman Amy Pascal has virtually confirmed that the dashing actor should be 007 in the near future.
Plenty of the Sony emails that were hacked primarily focused on the mega studio's prized horse, which happens to be the James Bond franchise, including the 24th Bond blockbuster entitled "Spectre." This upcoming action-filled flick has already been scheduled to hit the big screens by November 6th of 2015.
According to multiple online reports, because of the recent Sony hack, the movie's script has been leaked. Apart from that, the leaked emails also indicate that the budget for "Spectre" has ballooned to more than $300 million and that the villain role might be given to Blofeld.
For quite some time now, there has been a lot of online buzz that surrounds suggestions regarding James Bond Idris Elba. It appears that many are pushing that this particular suave British actor should be the next Bond, making him the very first black 007.
Although the current spot belongs to Daniel Craig, the famous superspy has been pretty vocal about his desire to vacate the post. He told Rolling Stone in 2012, "I've been trying to get out of this from the very moment I got into it. But, they won't let me go, and I've agreed to do a couple more, but let's see how this one does because business is business and if the sh*t goes down, I've got a contract that somebody will happily wipe their ass with."
However, he signed on for one last Bond blockbuster after "Spectre" premieres.
The Daily Beast spoke to Jamie Foxx earlier this year and he said that he was a huge fan of the notion of a martini-sipping James Bond Idris Elba. Foxx said, "I ran into Idris and I said, 'You know you're the mother*ckin' James Bond, right?'" According to Foxx, Elba, himself, admitted that he would certainly love to play the role if offered to him.
