Dallas Mavericks newest acquisition Rajon Rondo has a chance once again to accomplish what he did with Boston eight years ago, to win another NBA championship. With a talent loaded line-up, the Mavs are projected to go deep this season.  Rondo, now with renewed passion for the game, admitted that it has been a while since he played at such a high level.

However, it seems like the new Mavs point guard is not considering the Dallas Mavericks as his last destination just yet. According to Dimemag.com, Rajon Rondo will make his announcement in July and let Dallas know first about his impending decision as he wants to explore other free agency options.

Rondo is only 28 years old, which analysts consider as the prime years for most NBA players. Thus, plenty of offers are sure to come his way. Sporting News' Sean Deveney listed the teams interested in the point guard:

"There will be other teams involved in the pursuit of Rondo. The Lakers have long expressed interest and still are expected to be among the first in line in the bidding for Rondo. The Knicks-yes, even with the triangle offense-are already certain to be in the mix, too, a source with knowledge of the situation told SN.

...Rondo's preference would be to play for a winner, and the Mavericks are set up to contend for the next few years. "Depending on how things go from here, obviously, Dallas would get the first word with Rondo", the source said.

This is a bit contrary to the initial reports that came out when Rondo was still on the Celts trading block. NBA Insider Ken Berger at CBS Sports said Rondo might re-sign with a pair of Western Conference contenders. A league source informed CBSSports.com that the elite guard is open to re-signing with at least Southwest division teams - the Mavericks and Rockets.

Rajon Rondo is having the time of his basketball life once again. Right now, He is gracing the blue and silver Mavs uniform and knowing the type of competitor he is, winning is the only thing he have in mind and Dallas Mavericks fans can expect him to go all out every game this season. Wherever he lands next off-season, one thing is for sure, fans will see him back in the playoffs playing for a contender.
