Are you allergic to peanuts, or do you know someone who is? Then you should pay attention to this recall.

MorningStar Farms has just announced a recall of its spicy black bean burgers that are being sold across Martin's, Stop and Shop, and Giant Food stores.

The recall is specifically for those that have a best-by date between April 14 and June 30, 2016, with sizes at 18.9 and 9.5 ounces.

It turns out that these batches tend to contain some peanuts, an ingredient that is interestingly not found in its label.

You can simply return the product to the grocer or food store and obtain a refund. You may also request a refund even if you have partially consumed the product. Just discard the rest and bring your receipt. You may also visit the website of MorningStar Farms or call

800-962-0120 if you need more information, especially on refunds and returns. The products still remain those who don't have any allergies to peanuts.

More than 15 million American men and women have food allergies, and they may appear very early, especially among children. It's also on the rise with a 50% increase from 1997 to 2011, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. One of the most common triggers of food allergy is peanuts (in any form). In fact, peanut is one of the allergens that make up 90% of all food allergies.

Allergic reactions can range from mild to severe, which includes anaphylaxis. It's a severe form of allergic reaction characterized by sudden and quick appearance of rashes usually all over the body, itchiness, and difficulty in breathing as the air's passageway starts to become narrow and close up.

Because of the severity of anaphylaxis, it's always treated as an emergency. Those who are at risk of it may also have to carry an EpiPen to control the symptoms until the patient can receive the necessary treatment.
