Touted as the Holy Grail for musicians, The Grammy Awards 2015 for best rock album was awarded to Beck's "Morning Phase."  This left other nominees such as Tom Petty's "Hypnotic Eye," U2's "Songs Of Innocence," Ryan Adams self-titled album and the Black Keys "Turn Blue" hanging.

However, U2 not winning the award should not come as a surprise as their "Songs of Innocence" album was not quite well received especially by iPhone 6 users.

In light of this, Bono asked for forgiveness for the band album's obligatory free download on iTunes. Rolling Stone reported that in a Facebook Q&A dubbed #U2NoFilter, the vocalist answered questions such as fans requesting that the band never repeat the album launch because "It's really rude."

"Oops," Bono said. "I'm sorry about that. I had this beautiful idea and we got carried away with ourselves. Artists are prone to that kind of thing: [a] drop of megalomania, touch of generosity, dash of self-promotion and deep fear that these songs that we poured our life into over the last few years mightn't be heard. There's a lot of noise out there. I guess we got a little noisy ourselves to get through it."

Bono finished the interview with this statement: "If you don't want it, delete it."
