Vaginal Yeast Infections Can Be Cured Naturally

Research has found that a vaginal yeast infection is not a "disease" in itself, but is simply a symptom of larger scale systemic yeast. Prevention is indeed better than cure, but once you have it, the next best option is to stop the spread. In the case of a vaginal yeast infection, as soon as symptoms crop up, measures must be taken to stop Candida overgrowth.

Recent studies have found that antibiotics and over-the-counter medicine may not be the best way to deal with a yeast infection, especially during its early stages. In fact, an infection can be healed using natural means, as long as you know which one to employ. Listed below are some of them.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil's wonderful anti-bacterial properties help in curing a yeast infection. This oil can be used in a douche, with 20 drops to 8 ounces of water, or applied directly to a tampon and inserted into the vagina. The tampon can either be soaked in tea tree oil or coated with coconut oil, with drops of the tea tree oil.

Garlic

Garlic has stood the test of time in proving that it is one of nature's best wonders, especially in curing all kinds of infections. For vaginal yeast infection, experts recommend peeling a garlic bulb and sewing a string through it. With caution, insert the clove into the vagina, ideally at bedtime. Remove in the morning. Slicing the garlic in half increases its strength.

Oil of Oregano

Oil of oregano is available and sold at pharmacies and stores as a gelcap or as actual oils. For gelcaps, it is advised to insert them directly into the vagina, also before bedtime. Body heat will naturally melt the gel. For actual oil liquid, 20 drops will do. Oil of oregano can also be used on a tampon, just like tea tree oil.
