“The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair” draft has finally been completed by its writer, David Magee. It was Magee, himself, who shared this exciting news on his Twitter page.

“Completed the final draft of ‘The Silver Chair’ today,” he wrote. “I have had the immense pleasure to work on the project for over a year now. So fulfilling.”

Magee’s Twitter account is set privately, but Narnia Web had reportedly approached him and confirmed that the news about the script is, indeed, legitimate.

However, it would turn out that Magee’s “final draft” is actually only referring to his involvement in the movie’s screen play. Other writers will also be called in to contribute to the script of “The Silver Chair.”

This is very good news for the franchise’s fans who have been waiting for an update since the “Voyage of the Dawn Treader” hit theaters in 2010.

Michael Flaherty, the president of Walden Media, had told Christian Post in 2011 that they were already in discussions with Fox and the franchise’s author, CS Lewis, about their plans to make “The Magician’s Nephew” next.

“If we can all agree to move forward, then what we would do is find someone to write the script,” Flaherty told Christian Post. “So, it could still be a couple of years.”

Now, four years after the initial target, new film makers are finally pushing through with the next “Chronicles of Narnia” film, but, instead of “The Magician’s Nephew," which was actually the first book in the franchise – based on the chronology of the events within the book - they are moving forward with “The Silver Chair."

The Mark Gordon Company’s next step is to find a co-financier or distributor for the film.

“The Silver Chair” is the fourth book in the “Chronicles of Narnia” book franchise. Although it comes after “Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” the storyline picks up decades after the events that transpired in the previous book. However, it must be noted that, in real time, this is only a full year since time moves faster in each dimension.

Unfortunately, no official release date for the film has been confirmed for “The Silver Chair” to date.
