Lifetime's biopic movie "Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart" drew an overwhelming 3.6 million viewers on its debut show last Saturday night making it the network's top-rated movie to date.

The biopic movie shows the life story of singer Toni Braxton and the struggles she faced battling a severe chronic illness, financial difficulties, a divorce, being a single mother to a son with autism and other family-related conflicts, according to Variety.

Newcomer Lex Scott Davis portrays the role of Grammy Award-winning R&B icon Toni Braxton, in the film "Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart", according to The Wrap. This was produced by Link Entertainment with Toni Braxton herself as one of the executive producers. Vondie Curtis Hall directed the movie based from a script written by Susan McMartin. Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds was also part of the film's production.

Famed recording artist and producer Russel Simmons made a comment regarding the film saying that it had portrayed Toni beautifully.

"Proud of my friend @tonibraxton - tuned into #ToniBraxtonMovie right now. One of greatest voices we're ever[sic] heard + such a remarkable woman," Simmons tweeted, as per Daily Mail.

Soon after "Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart" biopic, "Beyond the Headlines: Toni Braxton" was aired and it drew 2.8 million viewers. The follow-up has exclusive interviews with Toni Braxton and her family, Babyface and David Foster to name a few.

Meanwhile, in an interview reported by Billboard, Braxton was asked what she thought she has learned from the "Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart" film.

"I learned that I care too much about what other people think. It was like wow, I really cared a lot," Braxton said.

"I sacrificed my own happiness for other people to be happy. Uh, that's not good. I mean life is a lot about giving and taking, but I feel that I should have enjoyed myself a lot more in my career without feeling guilty. I think everyone can look back at their life and say ah, I should have done that differently; I should have been happier about that. Now I see the movie and go whoa. I remember thinking that I was never going to get past this or that point. But here I am. A little bruised along the way but still here. I feel very proud of myself."
