Hair fall has been one of the most common difficulties with men and women as they grow older. Hair loss vitamins are flocking in the market as one of the most sought after supplements today. Knowing their ingredients and how they help in battling hair fall is important.

Certain vitamins for hair fall contain Biotin, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Saw Palmetto, Ginkgo Biloba, Grape Seed Extract and Green Tea Extract. Below are characteristics and mechanisms of each potent ingredient.

Biotin or Vitamin H aids in hair growth from the inside.  It plays a substantial role in the synthesis fatty acids, amino acids and glucose in the body. According to Livestrong, Biotin reinforces and fortifies  the hair strands because it can expand the diameter of the shaft. Hence, hair loss is lessened.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) affords  good sulfur foundation for connective tissues in the body. It is mostly a building block for hair and it helps in the expansion and growth of  hair growth phase making hair grow longer. According to Dr. Ronald Lawrence, in a study he conducted on efficacy of usage of oral MSM supplementation on hair and nails, it was found out that regular supplementation helpfully affect the appearance of the hair's radiance and shine.

Saw Palmetto, meanwhile, is a small palm plant that grows generally in North America. It is effective in handling male and female pattern baldness or alopecia which are common predicaments of people today. It is a Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) blocker that bars the action of DHT, an enzyme accountable for baldness.

Moreover, Gingko Biloba is a plant famous for its efficiency in improving memory especially in patients with Alzheimier's Disease and dementia. Gingko biloba promotes the blood flow in the brain. It brings more oxygen and nutrients making hair grow better.

Lastly, grape seed extract and green tea extract are also components to help hair growth. According to Progressive Health, green tea extract is a concentrate of flavonoids, linoleic acid, Vitamin E and oligomeric proanthocyanidins which are effective in stopping loss and promoting growth of hair.  Green tea boosts hair growth because it nourishes the hair follicles.
