There are reasons why both Vitamin K and Arnica are combined many skin care products especially those promising to reduce dark circles. Vitamin K and Arnica are effective and works together in batting dark circles and eye puffiness.

In the past, experts and dermatologists discovered the efficiency of Arnica and Vitamin K that are topically applied under the eyes to remove dark circles. According to a study in 2003 by the American Academy of Dermatology, Vitamin K is good on bruises and because dark circles have the same nature with bruises, Vitamin K can indeed combat dark circles under the eyes. Vitamin K can hasten the healing of bruises and dark circles due to the fact that it reduces inflammation. Moreover, it promotes normal blood clotting.

Another study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology made use of a topical cream with Vitamin K to 57 adults who have wrinkles and dark circles. After the 8 weeks of trial period, 47% said that the product produced improvement in the lessening of their dark circles.

Anti-aging products are in demand in the market as more women are recognizing the fact that skin aging should be slowed down. Dark circles under the eyes often appear as a premature sign of aging. It can be caused by loss of fats in the area wherein the blood in the capillaries become visible. Thus, it is more prominent and noticeable.

Arnica is also a potent serum to use under the eyes. Arnica is a derivative from flowers. It is a proven herbal medicine for bruises. According to a study, there are evidences that arnica is effective in removing or reducing bruises. Aside from that, it is also considered an anti-inflammatory.

According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, the plant Arnica has effectiveness in reducing bruising in the face and other parts of the body including the skin under the eyes.

This herb is infused into oil and used to put under the eyes to reduce dark circles and even eye puffiness. It is an effective anti-inflammatory and can combat bruises that are why it can effectively reduce dark circles under the eyes. These two when used together, can promote young-looking skin.
