Ian Somerhalder and ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev may never reconcile since they reportedly ended their friendship as the actor's wedding to fiancee Nikki Reed draws near.
Sources told Celebrity Dirty Laundry that the relationship between the two lead stars of "The Vampire Diaries" have become more difficult. The writers and the staff of the series have previously been trying their best to keep them away from each other. However, with their characters and the story bringing their paths together again, it has become awkward, weird and uncomfortable for them both.
"It's likely that Nina and Ian will call their friendship quits once Ian and Nikki get married. Even though there were rumors that the wedding was getting called off, our sources have confirmed that Ian's wedding to Nikki is definitely, definitely happening - and that Nina will NOT be present," the website wrote.
Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder reportedly want an intimate, outdoors wedding. Plus, they want their pets to be part of the festivities. The couple also plans to invite their "Vampire Diaries" cast and crew to the wedding, which includes Ian's ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev. However, an insider has revealed that they expect her to decline the invitation.
The 36-year-old actor purportedly wants to become a father soon. A source told HollywoodLife.com that Ian Somerhalder and his fiancee Nikki Reed have talked about having kids and they are both on the same page. The couple has also talked about adoption and both celebrities are open-minded about it.
"They both want to be parents, there's no question about it, but it's Ian who's in more of a rush. He'd be happy if she got pregnant like, yesterday but Nikki wants to hold off a little bit longer," a source said.
"The plan right now is to get married first and then take it from there but there's no doubt they'll be having kids sooner rather than later," the source added.
