Bandai Namco has confirmed through their blog that "Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin" has been released last Apr. 7, 2015. The game was made available on Steam last week, on Apr. 1.

"We wanted to give the fans an opportunity to participate again, this time in an even deeper experience in the Dark Souls II universe. With that goal in mind, in Scholar of the First Sin, we created not just a mere all-in-one package, but a completely new Dark Souls II experience," the company wrote on its blog.

The company revealed that they want to apply several features with the new generation of hardware on the market. They want users of these new platforms to be able to fully experience "Dark Souls 2" especially with the advanced features.

Bandai admitted that the game is the "most complete version of 'Dark Souls 2.'" It will be able to deliver a completely new gameplay experience including all of the DLC content. Furthermore, "Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin" is considered as the "Director's Cut" of all of the game's previous content. It features the original game plus content from all DLC packs.

DirectX11, Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game includes new enemy placement, map shortcuts, gameplay design, graphics, sound and a performance upgrade. New weapons, armor and NPC have been updated for fans' enjoyment. Online players have also been increased from 4 to 6.

Players experiencing the game on older consoles like DirectX9, Xbox 360 and PS3 will need to download a different version of "Dark Souls 2" than those who are using DirectX11, Xbox One, and PS4 versions. New gen hardware users cannot connect and interact with players using the old consoles.

"We also wanted an opportunity to implement a multitude of features made possible now with the new generation of hardware on the market. We want users on these new platforms to be able to experience Dark Souls II, as well as all the advanced features we are now able to implement," Bandai Namco posted.
