Ariana Grande and Big Sean have decided to part ways just after eight months of dating.

"They both deeply care for each other and remain close friends. We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time," their reps told Us Weekly.

Although there were rumors that they were together since August, Big Sean and Ariana Grande only confirmed that they were dating last Oct. 2014. They have been seen together onstage at several concerts and on the red carpet at the Grammys since then. The ex-couple collaborated on a track named "Research" for Big Sean's latest album, "Dark Sky Paradise."

"They made the decision to part ways because their conflicting touring schedules would keep them apart over the next year," a source said.

The "Break Free" singer was in a relationship with Jai Brooks, who is a member of the Australian YouTube band named The Janoskians. They were together from Aug. 2012 to Jul. 2013. Last May 2014, the singer was spotted together with Brooks and confirmed that they were back together but later split after three months. Ariana dated Nathan Sykes, from The Wanted, for three months in 2013.

Big Sean dated actress Naya Rivera, best known for her role as Santana Lopez on "Glee." They made their relationship public in Apr. 2013 and got engaged in Oct. 2013 but later split on Apr. 2014.

The rapper recently posted a selfie of himself on Instagram with the caption, "I give her that D... #Detroit," which is a lyric from his hit song "Mercy." Afterwards, Ariana Grande's father, Edward Butera, replied with the comment, "that D. better be Detroit Sean," which sent the Insta universe in hysterics.

"That is an imposter on Instagram," Edward Butera clarified through his Twitter account.

Apparently, it was a fake account set up for the singer's dad. Ariana's publicist told E! News that Butera did not write those comments.
