"Ultratron" for PS4, PS3, PS Vita and Wii U has been confirmed for release this month. Discounts during the game's launch will be available as revealed by Curve Digital.
Fans worldwide can expect the game for Xbox One on May 8. For PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, "Ultratron" will be released on May 12. Owners of Nintendo's Wii U can expect the Puppy Games' twin-stick shooter on May 14.
The game will cost €9.99, $9.99 and £7.99 worldwide and launch discounts are available.
"The last human has been slain by evil killer robots. You are the one remaining humanoid battle droid. Your mission: avenge the human race," the game's description stated.
Players will be blasting their way through over 40 levels of glowing neon. Battledroids can be boosted with power-ups and players can have cute but deadly pets. One will need to avoid Chasers, Turrets, Spawners, Minelayers, bombs and bullets. Plus, the four giant boss robots of the Apocalypse: Ieiunitas, Bellum, Lues and Letum need to be defeated.
As a homage to the 80s arcade machines in the past, "Ultratron" for PS4, PS3, PS Vita and Wii U will have the right mix of old-school "Robotron"-esque arcade shooter with a futuristic soundtrack and stylized graphics. It also has a simulated CRT-curve.
The console version of the game will have Online Leaderboards, the Achievements feature, Touchpad support, Controller rumble and Controller lightbar. It is also a Cross-Buy for the PlayStation consoles. The game will also have two-player co-op.
"With unique retro-futuristic sound and graphics, player responsive difficulty and a subtle system of tactics combined with classic gameplay, Ultratron is a fun and hypnotic arcade blast which has already thrilled players on Steam - indeed, with its 92 per cent positive user rating, it's regarded as one of the best examples of the genre," Curve Digital's press release said.
