"GTA 6" is coming and the wait couldn't be that long.
Reports have circled online including gameplay, plot and character details regarding the much-awaited installment to the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, "GTA 6" by Rockstar Games. Release date hasn't been announced yet, but is speculated to be no later than 2017 based on previous releases of installments.
Way back in 2013, Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies spoke briefly about the possibility of "GTA 6" in the midst of releasing "GTA 5." Talking to Develop-Online, Benzies shared, "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do."
"We don't know what 'GTA 6' will be, but we've got some ideas," Benzies continued. "'GTA Online' is the focus right now. There ain't no rest between finishing V and then Online. Plus we have some other things - stuff, DLC, I don't know how to describe it exactly - that we'd like to do, and we'll pick the right ones."
Documented two years ago, the progress of development for "GTA 6" could have gone much further now but fans could only speculate without the confirmation of Rockstar Games. The latest "GTA 5" was released initially in 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360, with PS4 and Xbox One versions released a year after.
The first ever "Grand Theft Auto" game was released in 1997 for the first PlayStation console. "GTA 6" marks the 16th video game in the franchise, with all previous games released no more than 2 years apart --- except for "GTA 5" that took at least 4 years to make.
This means that with "GTA 5" PS4 launched last year, a possible release date for "GTA 6" could be no later than 2017 especially since Rockstar Games makes sure that "the game always comes first," as revealed in the same report.
Meanwhile, speculations of gameplay plot and characters include a new location setting for "GTA 6" that could largely be in the United State but on a different city or an entirely different country such as London, reported Master Herald.
The same report also revealed that a female character may be added come "GTA 6" release date to further the storyline of the highly anticipated installment, and propel players to accomplish missions faster.
