Sony email leaks concerning the upcoming "Sinister Six" movie hinted on Drew Goddard's plan to use Savage Land in the upcoming "Spider-Man" spin-off film.

"I suggest you guys get in a room this morning and go over [Drew's] pitch and what is in Savage Land comics and make sure we are okay and not in a situation where they can find any foot faults," Amy Pascal reportedly wrote in an email.

Savage Land is a fictional tropical region in Antarctica created over 200 million years ago by the alien race named Nuwali. Surrounded by volcanoes, it is one of the various planetary "game preserves" for the godlike Beyonders.

It is home to dinosaurs and, as the Earth changed over the years, Nuwalis supplemented their preserve with prehistoric mammals and "Man-Apes." Savage Land first appeared in 1941's "Marvel Mystery Comics #22" but was named only on "X-Men #10." This is the dwelling place of Marvel superhero Ka-Zar.

"Sinister Six" movie news revealed that the Sony executives were discussing whether the studio can use it in the upcoming "Spider-Man" spin-off. Rachel O'Connor wrote that it was not part of the X-Men grant which means that they cannot utilize the story.

"We have known for weeks that drew was setting his story on a tropical island with dinosaurs and time travel portals," Pascal stated.

"I could be over reacting but we have known this for weeks. Long before [they] came in to pitch, [Drew] has been talking about dinosaurs and fictional tropical islands. I can't believe anyone would have allowed us to go forward if there was a problem and yet something is bothering me."

Pascal may be worried that using Savage Land as the setting for "Sinister Six" may pose a big problem for Sony legally. With the many problems that the studio is facing right now, this is a valid reason for the executives to be sure that there are no entanglements involved for their upcoming films.
