The "Halo 5: Guardians" release date has been confirmed for Oct. 27. 343 Industries' game will be published exclusively for Xbox One.

Along with the "Halo 5: Guardians" release date, the game's official box art, animated poster and trailer have been posted for fans. The game's exclusive release for Xbox One on October will be one of the games to open the fall video game release season.

The animated poster and cover art showed Master Chief head-to-head with Spartan Locke. Fans who pre-order the upcoming game will unlock the Spartan Locke armor as bonus. Enemies such as Jackals and Wraiths were seen in the trailer, which might mean that vehicles will be featured in "Halo 5."

Interesting moves and abilities were also shown in the trailer. The ground pound attack and the boost from the "Halo 5" multiplayer beta were featured. Some clambering were on display as well as charge attacks and the ability to target enemies with the character's visor.

The trailers seem to confirm that Locke will be a playable character, as previously speculated. Frank O'Connor, Franchise Development Director at 343 Industries, said that Locke would be a primary character while Master Chief is still the main character and hero.

It was speculated that the "Halo 5: Guardians" release date was on Nov. 10 but Microsoft has confirmed the game's Xbox One release on Oct. 27. 343 Industries recently tackled the subject of visual clutter that some fans has criticized saying that it affected gameplay.

"What you see as 'clutter,' someone else sees as 'detail' - the goal (and challenge) is to deliver a more detailed physical environment that maximizes the capabilities of the Xbox One while retaining clarity of image and the ability to follow the action," 343 Industries said.

"Your point is well taken though and this is something we are always working to balance."
