CyberConnect2 President and CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama revealed details about "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4."
In an interview with Siliconera, Matsuyama told the website about the changes in the game's battle system such as the leader change system and wall fighting. He also discussed details about Hanabi Hyuga and why she was chosen as the lead character for "NS:UNS4."
"Since some players will have a two person team and others a three man cell, we wanted to balance this by only having one life gauge between all characters," Matsuyama said about being able to switch lead characters in-battle.
"If you activate Awakening mode, [it] stays active when you switch leader characters too. It's possible to have a Tailed Beast Ball combo attack where Shukaku attacks first then Kurama can come out right away."
The president also revealed that they are thinking of putting in a counterattack so that the game will be balanced for players who will fight against Tailed Beast users. The support gauge is used when players change so constantly switching characters is not a possibility. However, players can have three Tailed Beasts attacks in a row.
The developers are discussing the wall-fighting feature since having one character up high on a wall might make the game unbalanced if one character is on the ground. Matsuyama said that they are still thinking of adjusting this feature so that it works for players.
Hanabi Hyuga was previously playable in PS2 title "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Accel 2." There was not much about her in the manga before, according to Hiroshi. CyberConnect2 proposed to Shueisha to add Hanabi into the "Ultimate Ninja" series.
Now, she was featured in "The Last: Naruto the Movie" and Kishimoto-sensei presented her characteristics. The developers drew upon the ideas from the manga and anime to create her character in the game.
One attack that she has is the combination jutsu with Neji, Hinata and her father Hiashi Hyuga. Hiashi is not a playable character and will only appear during this combination jutsu.
