The "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F" composer, Norihito Sumitomo, has been confirmed to work on the new "Dragon Ball Z" TV series entitled "Dragon Ball Super."

Norihito Sumitomo revealed on his official blog that he will be working on the score for the upcoming "Dragon Ball Super" anime television series. He previously worked on 2013's "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods" and composed scores for "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F."

Sumitomo's work can be heard in the Majin Buu saga in "Dragon Ball Z Kai." It was his score which replaced the original music for the TV series. It aired from 2009 to 2011 on Fuji Television.

The new "Dragon Ball Z" TV series "Dragon Ball Super" will premiere in Japan this July. It will be the first new anime show for the franchise in 18 years, after 1996's "Dragon Ball GT." The new "Dragon Ball Z" TV series will be set after the events of the Buu saga and the recent film, "Resurrection of F." Toei Animation has also noted that the name may change once the show has been localized.

"Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F" focused on the return of Frieza, in his golden form, as well as the God of Destruction Beerus and Whis. The film premiered on more than 600 theaters in Japan. It was the first Japanese movie to open in 3D iMAX Digital Theaters.

The film will be released in North American theaters for a limited time only. Funimation will screen the movie from Aug. 4 to Aug. 12. Fans can sign up for the e-mail list to get first updates on screening locations and when tickets are available for purchase.

"We are thrilled to bring fans - both new and old - this latest film from series creator Akira Toriyama," Funimation CEO and Founder Gen Fukunaga said. "'Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F' is a visually stunning movie and offers even more action and comedy than 'Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.'"
