The "Rock Band 4" release date may be this October as listed by a retailer.

The Verge reported that Harmonix's highly-anticipated music video game may be released by Oct. 6 as listed by Amazon. "Rock Band 4" will purportedly be available for Xbox One and PS4 at that time. It will also come in a Band-in-a-Box Bundle at $249.99 or Guitar Bundle at $129.99. The Band Bundle will have a guitar, microphone and drums.

Although retailers sometimes place the incorrect release dates, the timing seems accurate. Furthermore, it will put the game in competition with the new "Guitar Hero." "Rock Band 4" instruments have been confirmed to look way better than it did on previous games. Technical Artist Chris Hartelius revealed that each model has its own different finish, from the basic wood guitar to the triburst.

Harmonix also confirmed that last-gen instruments can be carried over and going from PS3 to PS4 will require nothing more than plugging in the device. Xbox 360 instruments can be carried over to Xbox One as well but it will need a special, inexpensive adapter, according to the game's developer.

IGN reported that "Rock Band 4" now lets players have their own freestyle guitar solo. The new system rewards players for performing their solo in a specific way, instead of just hitting random buttons. It encourages creativity.

Visual cues help the player determine what is needed in the song. Colors and iconography point to which buttons to press on the guitar. Holding a single note lets the guitar string sing while holding two or more buttons as well as strumming creates a lick. Gestures, like lifting the guitar to create feedback, strumming upward and holding the note for a "bend" sound and holding all five note buttons for a heavy noise, allow more freedom for the soloist.

A new structure for "Rock Band 4," named "Gigs," captures the feeling of a live performance. It is used for narrative means as well as provide new gameplay and emotional experiences for the game.
