"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" PS4 has been confirmed as the first console for Treyarch's upcoming shooter.
With a first in the series' history, Activision has decided to discontinue the game's Xbox exclusivity with Microsoft and has partnered with Sony. After five years of giving Xbox owners early access and being the first to experience the previous "Call of Duty" titles, it is now PS4 owners who will get dibs on "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" this year.
Treyarch's shooter will be facing off against other popular games such as "Fallout 4," "Star Wars: Battlefront" and "Halo 5: Guardians" during its release later this year. Activision, in another first for the franchise, is making the game playable at E3 2015. Plus, a public multiplayer beta can be accessed by fans this summer.
"This is by far the most complex production I've ever done in 20 years," Mark Lamia, Treyarch's Studio Head, said. To simply talk about it and show people, it would be a disservice, so we wanted to get it into people's hands and talk less about it."
Treyarch and Activision has revealed that official "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" PS4 fact sheet which explains in detail the available Specialists, customization features, campaigns, partial list of maps and zombies.
The game's campaign is developed for four-player online co-op and re-playability. Six Specialists have been revealed so far: Ruin, Seraph, Outrider, Reaper, Prophet and Nomad. Treyarch is taking customization to the next level. Key campaign additions such as Spatial Design and Larger Environments provide players with the ability to engage enemies with whatever strategy they want.
Cyber Cores and Tactical Rigs allow an additional level of player customization. The Safe House, another key campaign addition, is the area where players can customize their weapons and loadouts. The new Gunsmith system allows players to tailor their weapons to their preference with several models for each attachment, distinctive camos and custom emblems.
