"Monster Hunter X" 3DS has been confirmed during a Japanese Nintendo Direct presentation last month.

Kotaku reported that the new "Monster Hunter" 3DS game has been announced by Capcom with an incredible trailer. There are new special moves as well as new weapons. The company's official website has some screenshots from its upcoming shooter.

According to Siliconera, "Monster Hunter X" 3DS will be bringing new elements to the hunt. It features new flashy moves called "Hunting Arts" as well as new actions called "Hunting Styles." There are four main monsters that players will encounter in the game.

The first monster for Hunters is a Brute Wyvern-type monster that utilizes its sharp shell with overwhelming force. It also uses its long tail to destroy its surroundings. This may be one of the most powerful Brute Wyverns in the series.

The second monster is a Flying Wyvern with elegant wings. It also has a characteristic crest and sharp scales. The Fanged Beast monster is the third and largest of all four monsters. It is characterized by its head, giant tusks, long trunk and its gigantic body which gives its destructive force. Lastly, the Leviathan-type monster has a mesmerizing body. It can use its unique shape and flexibility to attack Hunters.

"Hunting Arts" in "Monster Hunter X" 3DS vary per weapon. Some can cause massive damage to enemies or provide players with buffs as well as enable the Hunter to heal others. Players can choose from four types of "Hunting Styles. These will involve maneuvers that take Hunters to safety while others can turn the tables by converting dangerous moments to advantageous situations.

Players can visit villages from past "Monster Hunter" titles. A new village in "Monster Hunter X" 3DS is named the "Verna Village." New fields involve forests with huge plants, grassy plains, caves and more. Furthermore, the upcoming 3DS shooter will feature the same 14 weapons in "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate."

"Monster Hunter X" 3DS is slated for a winter release in Japan this year. No word yet on the western release date.
