The new "Halo 5" Warzone map is the biggest in the game series so far.
"Halo 5: Guardians" introduced a new 12v12 mode named Warzone. This requires maps about four times bigger than the ones usually used in the game. The latest and biggest "Halo 5" Warzone map to be unveiled is Raid on Apex 7.
Raid is sort of a spiritual successor to "Halo: Combat Evolved" mission, The Silent Cartographer. Players need to capture and hold a Forerunner Spire. At the same time, players will also go head to head against Covenant troops while battling the opposing team for the position.
"Clearing out the initial Covenant threats and controlling the Forerunner Spire in the center of the island is paramount to a team's success and provides a central base of operations," Microsoft said.
"If your team loses the Spire, don't despair; players can use a system of caves or take to the beach to flank the base. Beware of the Covenant though, for they will not let you take this island so easily. They will counterattack and fight to retake their territory. Continue the push for control of the island and take out the opposition's core... before you awaken something much worse."
Microsoft's new "Halo 5" app is now available on iOS and Android. The "Halo" Channel app will feature the latest news and community activities of the game. It was launched last year on Xbox One as well as on Windows PCs and tablets. The tech giant also revealed that a Windows Phone version should be available when Windows 10 arrives on Jul. 29.
343 Industries added a new Requisition System (REQ) which will work in the game's two multiplayer experiences: Arena and Warzone. The "Halo 5" Warzone map has Requisition Stations that players can interact with and use their REQ cards to deploy weapons, vehicles and power-ups. Players can earn REQ points after each match in Arena or Warzone and spend them on REQ packs.
