The "Warcraft" movie will not only please "WoW" fans but also non-gamers.
"Warcraft" movie director Duncan Jones revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con that making the movie accessible and interesting to everybody, rather than specifically catering to "World of Warcraft" players, is his top priority.
Jones and the cast of the upcoming "Warcraft" movie described the story of the film as two heroes on a collision course, not just a struggle of good against evil. It will be told from both the perspective of the orcs who are fleeing from famine in Draenor as well as from the humans of Azaroth's side who are defending their homes from the horde.
Robert Kazinsky will take on the role of orc leader Orgrim Doomhammer. He claimed that the "Warcraft" movie will be the film that gamers want to see. He also claimed to have played "WoW" for a total of 600 days worth of gameplay.
The extended trailer for the "World of Warcraft" movie shown at the panel opened on Draenor, where orc people were shown desperately searching for a new home. Orc Warchief Blackhand commanded his forces through the gates between worlds and called for them to take prisoners.
The panel featured Clancy Brown (Blackhand), Ben Foster (Medivh), Travis Fimmell (Anduin Lothar), Paula Patton (Garona), Dominic Cooper (King Llane Wrynn), Ben Schnetzer (Khadgar), Ruth Negga (Lady Taria), and Daniel Wu (Gul'dan).
A new "Warcraft" graphic novel was announced at SDCC 2015. "Warcraft: Bonds of Brotherhood" is a standalone hardcover volume which features an original story developed by Chris Metzen of Blizzard. It will serve as a prequel to the 2016 "Warcraft" movie.
The comic is described as a thrilling "thrilling adventure of bravery, bloodshed and brotherhood." The story is said to focus on three human brothers. Paul Connell, who worked on "Doctor Who," "Captain Britain" and the "MI:13," will script the comic based on Metzen's story. Artist Mat Broome ("Batman: No Man's Land," "WildC.A.T.S.") will illustrate the book.
