24-year-old Ethan Scott’s fiancé, James, decided to give him the greatest gift of all.

The California blogger, who was born red/green colorblind, was given a pair of corrective glasses from EnChroma for his birthday, allowing him to see various colors for the first time, according to Mashable.

The best part is that Scott wasn’t told that the glasses would allow him to see color.

“It’s so beautiful,” Scott says as he looks out on the green lawn.

“This is really overwhelming. I was honestly just shaking, and I couldn’t comprehend what I was seeing.”

Being red/green colorblind doesn’t mean that Scott is able to see color.

“It doesn’t mean I see the world in black and white, it just means that I see things in a way that are a little bit more dull than usual. I can see some pink and some green; it’s just something green looks brown or yellow and pink looks silver or blue,” explains Scott in the clip.

Scott is able to take in everything around him, including a purple Lysol container that he’s especially impressed by.

“Is this purple? That Lysol thing is scaring me!” Scott says.

The glasses created by the EnChroma team has a filter that virtually cures the wearer’s colorblindness through the use of linear programming and perceptual psychophysics, according to People.

The video has garnered over 1 million views, touching the hearts of many in the process.

“What a beautiful video just makes me so happy to watch!” commented YouTube user ImAnderZEL.
