With fans eager to get news about a confirmed "Half Life 3," new reports are claiming that the story for the 3rd installment is already complete.

Good news? Perhaps not.  In the same breath, it has been suggested that Valve was just not too keen to develop it.

"New rumours have emerged that Valve already has Half-Life 3 fully planned out, but that only 10 people are working on it right now," Metro reported.

"For years now it's seemed almost pointless talking about Half-Life 3 as a thing that might actually happen, but after E3's revelations about The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy VII remake, and Shenmue III it's clear that miracles can happen."

Meanwhile, other fan theories link "Half Life 3" release date to another anticipated Valve title, "Portal 3."

If speculations are true, it could be possible that "Portal 3" and "Half Life 3" could just be one game.

"Hey, here's an idea that came to my mind yesterday," user inexort said in a HL3 subreddit.

"Maybe it's just crap, but i want to share it with you. As you know Portal and Half-Life is set in the same universe. Aperture Science is a rival in business to Black Mesa. In Episode 2 we were confronted with the Borealis for the first time (if i remember right) and in Portal 2 we can visit the Borealis' drydock."

"At the moment we have Portal 2 and Half-Life 2 + episodes. Portal 1 and 2 were released after Half-Life 2, while Episode 2 which was released with Portal 1 introduced the Borealis. Instead of a new Half-Life game Valve released Portal 2 which gave us the hidden opportunity to visit the drydock. Until yesterday i thought about this as an easter egg, but maybe it was more? In Half-Life 3 Gordon Freeman has to get in closer contact with Aperture Science, as he has to get to the Borealis," inexort continued.

"Therefore he might be confronted with Aperture Science technique. The final point is that he might get a Portal Gun which integrates Portal game mechanics in Half-Life 3. Portal 2 could have been a way to make people comfortable with this game mechanics in preparation for Half-Life 3. I am also relatively sure that VR will be a major part of the new HL, but that might be another story..."

"Let me know what you think about that stupid idea..."

What do you think?
