Six-year-old Charlotte just had her second cochlear implant put in at Gillies Hospital, according to NZHerald.

Charlotte never needs to feel like the odd one out now because her dad, Alistair Campbell, recently got a tattoo of a cochlear implant to show his support for his daughter, according to Buzzfeed.

The tattoo, which reportedly took about 45 minutes, was nothing this father-of-the-year couldn’t handle because he did it for a great reason.

“My love for her really,” stated Campbell.

“Hey my hair can grown back.”

Charlotte’s life has changed since she received her first implant at the age of 4.

“It has changed her life being given the gift of sound,” said Campbell.

Charlotte’s mother reportedly had a cochlear implant and her brother, Lewis, wears hearing aids, so it wasn’t a surprise when Charlotte needed two implants. After Charlotte’s first implant in her left ear, there was immense change in the little girl’s behavior, according to Charlotte’s mom, Anita Campbell.

“She wouldn’t talk to anybody to pretty much a social butterfly,” said Anita.

Charlotte’s second implant would reportedly give Charlotte “more sound” and help her better distinguish the direction it’s coming from, according to the Hearing House fundraising and communications manager, Mary Jane Boland.

Charlotte reportedly saw her dad’s version of a cochlear implant and told him it was “cool.” Anita reportedly explained that she wasn’t so sure her daughter had grasped the significance of the tattoo just yet, given that she’s only six-years-old.

Many have applauded Campbell’s decision to get a tattoo for his daughter.

“The reactions have been overwhelming, mostly positive. Some negative comments have surfaced, they don’t bother me, we’re doing what is best for our daughter and our family,” stated Campbell.
