Two pictures of a gigantic tiger shark that was caught off the 7 Mile beach in Australia, surfaced on social media several days ago, according to Buzzfeed.
Amidst the death of the shark, about 200 surfers from beaches around Byron Bay, held a meeting in order to discuss the sharks while about 95 percent of those that attended supported a limited cull of the creatures, according to the U.K. publication The Telegraph.
This has come as a shock as surfers reportedly typically resist efforts to control or disturb the animals in the water.

“Surfers are more environmentally aware than most,” Don Munro, who organized the meeting, told Fairfax Media.
“We live in the water, we have an appreciation that we're in their domain but ... now it's just gone crazy and no one really knows why. The thing is, what price do we put on a [human] life?"
There has reportedly been several shark attacks off the eastern and western coast of Australia recently, many of which resulted in deaths.
The shock over the size of the tiger shark has brought on speculation as to whether the photo is real or not.
“Yes, it’s real. It isn’t my photo,” stated Geoff Brooks, who posted the photo on Facebook.
It’s not an unusual size for a tiger shark, according to a state government spokesman.
A fisherman named Matthew reportedly told the local Northern Star newspaper that he caught the shark “a while ago” while he was trying to bring in a smaller shark, which was swallowed by the tiger shark before he caught it.
