When you’re Jerry Seinfeld, anything you touch will most likely be successful.

Apparently, the lemonade stand business wasn’t on the comedian’s long list of successful endeavors as his East Hampton stand was shut down by local police last week, according to The Huffington Post.

“Lemonade dreams crushed by local neighbor but not before raising lots of money for @loverecycled. Thanks to all our customers and big tippers! thanks Xander and Jaden for crushing it today with Julian and Jerry,” wrote Seinfeld’s wife, Jessica, on her Instagram, along with the photo above.

East Hampton Village Police Chief Jerry Larsen said that police received a complaint about illegally parked vehicles at the location of the lemonade stand, according to the news outlet 27east. An officer reportedly advised that village code doesn’t permit lemonade stands on village property.

Jerry Seinfeld’s lemonade stand was set up for a good cause. The proceeds reportedly went to the Baby Buggy family charity, which is run by Jessica.

The organization reportedly focuses on providing families that are struggling financially with clothing, gear and services.

Social media users have playfully started making jokes about the recent incident.

“Shame on you Jerry for wanting to instill kindness and a sense of community in your children! What nerve you have wanting to make the world a better place for the next generation,” commented Facebook user Jamie A Ford.

Social media user Christopher Travica wrote, “Good thing they caught these law breakers early. You never know what they would have done next, maybe a bake sale?”
