George R.R. Martin has still not made any announcements regarding the highly-anticipated "Winds of Winter" release date.

News Everyday reported that George R.R. Martin is well aware of how fans are impatiently waiting for the "Winds of Winter" release date. Several speculations have surfaced on when the book would become available.

However, instead of giving updates on the upcoming installment of his "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, the author refused to discuss his progress. This led a lot of fans to wonder on whether the book is even being prioritized.

The latest George R.R. Martin, "Winds of Winter" release date news was when the author announced that Cinemax has ordered a script for his werewolf noir novel, "The Skin Trade." In his Live Journal blog, Martin admitted that he would have loved to be more hands-on with the show but a certain book had to be finished first.

"And no, while I would have loved to write the script and run the show myself myself, that was never really in the cards," he wrote. "I have this book to finish. You know the one."

The novella's rights were optioned by Mark B. Newbauer of Mike the Pike Productions, who will executive produce the Cinemax version. The upcoming TV series will focus on "a collections agent, who happens to be a werewolf, and his friend, a private investigator."

It was previously reported that George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter" release date may be released before the sixth season of "Game of Thrones" begins. "GoT" season six is said to commence on Apr. 3, 2016.

Huffington Post reported that "Gone Girl" author Gillian Flynn has written a book which was requested to her by the "Song of Ice and Fire" creator. "The Grownup" is a ghost story about a 30-something lady.

"Thanks to George R.R. Martin, who asked me to write him a story," Flynn wrote in the book's acknowledgments section.
