Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas have split up just after five months of being together.
People reported that the high-profile couple has broken up. "Joe and Gigi's relationship recently ended," a source told the publication.
"Nothing serious happened ... it wasn't a dramatic break up. It was just hard to make it work with their schedules. They will definitely remain friends."
Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas started dating last June, after the 20-year-old supermodel broke up with Aussie ex-boyfriend Cody Simpson in May. They were spotted at Taylor Swift's Independence Day party as well as on a Disneyland date last July.
They even made their red carpet debut as a couple when they attended the 2015 Global Lyme Alliance Gala in New York. Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas' break up came after the 20-year-old supermodel directed the first music video for DNCE's "Cake by the Ocean" track.
"She's always had a high creative eye so she came up with [the] concept and we rolled with it," Jonas said about Hadid. "She was a good boss."
E! News commented that it was ironic how their work, which caused Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas' break up, could also be what will help them get through the split. The model has been casted for this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show while Joe will soon go on tour with his band.
However, an insider told HollywoodLife.com that the real reason why Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas broke up was because the supermodel just was not feeling it with Jonas. "Gigi and Joe split because she honestly just wasn't that into him," the source said.
"He was obsessed with her and has been for a long time. He was texting and calling her even when she was with Cody. He smothered her and wanted her to come on tour with him."
"Gigi's career is blowing up right now and she is focused on that," the source added. "She's not about to drop everything and go on tour with him. It seemed like a good time to take a break."
