Recent Lindsay Lohan 2015 news revealed that the "Mean Girls" actress is working on a new film.

People reported that the 29-year-old celebrity is planning a career comeback. Lohan has announced that she is working on a new movie entitled "The Shadow Within."

"My first day on my new film," the actress captioned a selfie that she uploaded on Instagram last Monday. "Will be sending a sneak peak of my character this week."

This will be the "Parent Trap" star's first movie after two years, following 2013 flick "The Canyons" as well as 2012's "Liz & Dick." She is best known for her roles in "Mean Girls," "Freaky Friday" and "Herbie: Fully Loaded."

The former Disney star has spent time in rehab and prison. Lindsay Lohan has also spent eight years in and out of the court room.

Earlier this year, Dina Lohan, the actress' mother, was said to have sold her daughter's stuff online. Sources close to the "Mean Girls" star revealed that Dina Lohan was selling Lindsay's clothing, furniture and artwork online and to her friends without her daughter's permission.

According to Mail Online, Lindsay Lohan is documenting her return to acting as she posted another selfie two days ago. The image showed the star lying in bed, preparing for her third day of filming.

"Morning! Ready for day three on set," she captioned the photo.

Lindsay Lohan has also revealed that she will be singing in her upcoming film. The actress replied to a fan's comment on her Instagram last Sunday confirming that she will sing for her new movie.
